Democratic innovation database

The database on democratic innovation tracks initiatives in the domain of e-democracy broadly understood. The main objective of this research programme is to learn more about innovative democratic practices, their characteristics and scope as well as potential outcomes and evolution over time

News database

It is difficult to track developments in the fast-moving field of e-democracy. The pace of change is staggering and beyond the capacity of any single or networked research centre. In order to try to track developments we have designed a tool to crawl the web and search for terms related to e-democracy. The hits are then coded by key term and the country source of news item. The tool is still at a rather exploratory stage, but over time it will be refined and expanded to cover additional languages. We then plan to produce yearly reports identifying potential e-democracy hotspots across the globe
